Vembanaad Kaayal
Vembanaad lake is the longest lake in India as well as the largest lake in the state of Kerala. The lake has an area of 230 sq.km and a maximum length of 96.05 km. The world famous Nehru trophy boat race is conducted in this lake. In the Vembanad Lake there is a small beautiful island called Pathiramanal or the Midnight sands. Sree Subhramaniya Swami Temple
The Sree Subhramaniya Swami Temple in Haripad, Alappuzha is one of the largest and oldest temples in kerala it is dedicated to subhramaniya swami – the lord Muruga - and it is also known as Dakshina Palani. It is believed that the temple was established even before the advent of Kaliyuga.
